Image Manipulation

Hi Bloggers,

This is my experience with the popular online photo editing program Picnik.

The Before.....

And the After....

I must say wow.... I have never used a photo editing program ever... and it's amazing... Let alone how the differences between the above two photos are free. I can't believe how different it is. In hte original photo my nose is so red, but now you could never tell the difference.

Therefore, I must say this has been a positive experience to utilise this program. I have never used one because I didn't realise there were any programs free as I thought you had to purchase them straight up.

I must say Picnik is an excellent program and I now most likely will be utilising it again in hte near future often. The only downside is, you can't use all the options as a program premium needs to be purchased. Nevertheless, it makes no difference to the free online version. It's very user friendly which means beginner users in this program like myself, are easily able to work all the functions.

I must admit that I had troubles in uploading the pictures from Flickr into my blog. This was because I was copying the link rather than the HTML code. As you can see, I worked this out for myself as the pictures are displayed above.

I personally would really like to hear from you all about your comments on this program as i thoroughly enjoyed playing around with the different modes and functions on this technology.

Cheers,
Courtney

  1. Hi Courtney,
I have just been perusing your blog, it looks great. I am not sure about you, but i am in my first term of Uni at the moment and am finding it all a bit daunting. Whilst glancing at your references, i noticed that you say "received from" rather than "retrieved from" regarding your websites. I just wanted to let you know that my understanding of the referencing guide says that this should be "Retrieved from". If you are using a different referencing style ( or if I am in fact the one that has it wrong) then please disregard my comments. I just thought that if it was a simple gramatical error that could possibly lose you grades, I would hope that my peers in the class would do the same for me.
    Happy Blogging :-)
    Regards
    Kelly

  2. Thank you Kelly, I will have to have a look at that as far as I know it's what I have used in all of my assignments and have never been pulled up on it before by any lecturers or tutors.

Yes, I do also believe all this technology and especially this course has been very daunting. However, there have been many new technologies I have discovered and learnt a lot from which would work well within an Early Childhood classroom = )

    Cheers,
    Courtney.

  3. Hello,

I found the imagine manipulation on Picnik fascinating! It was very user friendly, engaging and the end result of the pictures once they had been manipulated were unbelievable! It's definately a technology which I will be using on a regular basis.

I have been using the Abridged Guide to APA referencing, and I find it very clear to follow.

If you would like to check it out you can do so at the following URL:

    Hope this helps! :).

  4. Thank you very much for that Krystal!

Yes I will also be doing the same and using these websites on a more frequent base. It's amazing what they can do and may even considering buying the premium package for a few more options. Best thing was it was user friendly making it easy for everybody to utilise.
